The Wolf Pack's Surprise.

Su Lin made two trips before bringing all four remaining Arctic Hares back to the cave.

When he tossed the four Arctic Hares in front of Cousin Sister, Wolf Sister, and the other wolf pups, he clearly saw the delight in their eyes, along with their admiring yelps.

As members of the wolf clan, Arctic Wolves were mammals as well. Though they possessed a certain degree of intelligence, they could not compare to humans.

Thus, it already surprised Su Lin that Wolf Sister and Cousin Sister could express limited delight and admiration.

As for emotions like disbelief and shock, those were probably feelings only humans possessed at this stage.

"Awoo."

Su Lin let out a low growl, picked up an Arctic Hare kit's corpse, and tossed it before them.

After all, this was food he had caught himself. If he did not say anything, Wolf Sister and the others probably would not dare take a bite.

Now that they had permission, the wolf pups eagerly began eating.

Little Lone Wolf, in particular, ate with the greatest enthusiasm.

He even tried to snatch the meat from the weaker Cousin Sister. Su Lin, who was resting nearby to recover his stamina, saw it.

Wolf Mom, Wolf Dad, and the rest of the pack dragged their exhausted bodies back from outside, step by step.

Wolf Mom was in a very bad mood.

Today had been another day with very little gain.

They had not caught a single live prey animal, only snatching half a Seal that a Polar Bear had left behind.

The pack currently consisted of eight adult Arctic Wolves: three Male Wolves and five Female Wolves.

Half a Seal was nowhere near enough to fill their stomachs. It might not even replenish the energy they had spent today.

Her pups would have to go hungry again today.

"Awoo!"

At that thought, Wolf Mom let out an irritated howl.

If things continued like this, the pack probably would not last much longer.

It would be much better if they migrated some distance south.

After all, there were still many large herbivores there, such as Arctic Reindeer.

But migrating with pups was far too risky.

The wolf pups hiding in the cave, full and content, jolted upright when they heard the familiar roar.

Su Lin was no exception.

Had Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom encountered some enemy?

He swiftly scrambled up and rushed toward the cave entrance.

"Awoo!"

With strength and speed both reaching 60, Wolf Dad shot straight through the entrance. His white Wolf Claw struck the ground, sending several shards of stone flying.

Su Lin stared at the enraged Wolf Dad, who had no enemy in sight, and froze in place.

What was going on? He was completely baffled, while Wolf Sister and Cousin Sister behind him trembled in fear.

A few seconds later, Wolf Mom and the other wolves rushed in as well.

They swept their gazes across the cave. Only after discovering that all the pups were safe did their bristling fur slowly settle down.

Su Lin roughly guessed why Wolf Mom and Wolf Dad had become enraged earlier. He gave a soft growl, then carried the remaining two Arctic Hares out from the cave.

Wolf Mom approached the Arctic Hares and sniffed them.

Hmm? Fresh? Had the strong bloody scent from before come from these?

But where had this food come from? Arctic Hares were so hard to catch. Could the pup have caught them?

Wolf Mom turned toward Su Lin beside her with a puzzled expression.

"Awoo!"

Su Lin answered with a cry.

At this point, Wolf Mom and Wolf Dad were not in a hurry to eat the two Arctic Hare kit carcasses.

On one hand, two Arctic Hare kits would be fine for Wolf Mom alone, but if they shared them, they would not even be enough to fill the gaps between the teeth of several wolves.

On the other hand, pairs of wolf eyes were all staring curiously at Su Lin.

He was only a one-month-old wolf pup, yet he could already hunt Arctic Hares on his own?

Wasn't his growth rate a little too fast?

If this continued for a while longer, would he not soon surpass them? Clearly, the looks several wolves in the pack gave Su Lin had changed.

Wolf Mom gave a low growl and was the first to look away.

She picked up one of the two Arctic Hare kits from the ground for herself. Having given birth not long ago, her body truly needed nourishment.

Next, after Su Lin, Wolf Sister, Cousin Sister, and the other pups all indicated that they were full, Wolf Dad tossed the remaining Arctic Hare kit to the other female wolves.

As for the male wolves, they silently returned to their original spots in the cave and lay down to sleep.

After all, sleeping was the best way to conserve energy.
