It had no memories, like a newborn infant possessing an adult's body.
Before the Great Feng Dynasty appeared, the Nether Land had been filled with beings like these. They wore not a stitch of clothing and wandered through the Nether Land, acting entirely on instinct. In an environment of devouring and being devoured, the fittest survived.
Back then, only the monks of the Bhadrapala Pure Land walked across the Nether Land, enlightening them, reasoning with them, and guiding them in cultivation.

Because of Emperor Lin's laws of the Life and Death Great Dao, the chances of Wandering Spirits landing within Great Feng's territory increased. In Great Feng, there was a special institution called the "Eye-Opening Grounds," where the Spiritual Light of Living Beings ultimately transformed into Nether Land lifeforms.
There, newly formed Wandering Spirits received the most basic education, including language, rules, and the most basic means of making a living. They were then selectively assigned to all walks of life throughout Great Feng.
