Hehe, it's been a long time since I posted a standalone update at the end of the month.
Let's chat for a couple of minutes.
The book has already reached four million words, and I'm very grateful for everyone's support.
The book is also approaching its grand finale, and I have a lot of feelings about that.
But I'll save them for the post-completion thoughts.
Hmm, Ba Wan would first like to respond to the recent comments saying that I was padding the word count and shamelessly profiting by dragging out the story.
This matter is very complicated. Put simply: impossible! (Serious face.)
Please believe Ba Wan. More than anyone else, I want this book to end sooner. Truly.
First of all, Ba Wan shamefully admits that compared with those big-name authors, my number of returning subscribers isn't actually high—it's far below the average subscriptions.
Anyone who understands Qidian authors' subscription model even a little should know that if the number of new returning subscribers is low, not only is there little income, but every chapter posted also pulls down the average subscriptions a little. For Ba Wan, writing my first book, the average subscription count affects the resources available for my next book, so it's actually more important.
Secondly, as everyone has seen, this book contains a lot of OSTs from films and television dramas, including Wuxia novels. These elements mean that Ba Wan can't sell the major rights for things like film, television, animation, or games.
At a time like this, if Ba Wan started a new book, given my work experience and current results, its economic prospects would at least be better than this book's—especially now, in March and April, when all the major companies are stocking up on projects.
So, at least from Ba Wan's perspective,
