"Magic School on the Mountains of the Moon"—Uagadou
Uagadou was a magical school in Africa, the largest of all wizarding schools.
This was because the rooms here were all the simplest kind of single-story buildings.
Various houses were scattered across every mountain.
In other words, the peak of every mountain could be considered part of the school.
Hogwarts, on the other hand, was merely a cluster of castles.
Otherwise, the Forbidden Forest alone would crush every other magical school.
Uagadou's location had always been a mystery. Like Hogwarts, it was hidden beyond the maps.
Other than members of the school and invited guests, virtually no one knew its exact location.
Only upon arriving at a gathering place for African wizards could one hear rumors that it stood upon the "Mountains of the Moon." Shrouded in mist all year round, it appeared to float in the sky.
Unlike the fervent wand culture of Europe—
Uagadou's wizards believed that while wands appeared to be indispensable tools for wizards, they were inventions from Europe. Many African wizards could cast spells with nothing more than their fingers or palms, as though it were an innate gift.
But clearly, the power of such spellcasting could not compare with magic assisted by wands.
Although Uagadou students could easily learn the more "advanced" Synchronized Transformation than the Animagus transformation, allowing fourteen-year-olds to transform freely into elephants or cheetahs, this put pressure on many older, more prestigious, and more experienced wizards.
But in the eyes of ancient bloodline wizards, this was putting the cart before the horse.
Elephants, cheetahs, snakes, and the like were all ordinary animals.
Africa, where astronomy, alchemy, and Transfiguration flourished, was indeed worth pursuing.
After all, the wizards here did not appear to possess especially powerful offensive methods.
