Cavendish, having overreacted, looked at Maud right in front of him with complicated feelings.
Just looking at the obvious bewilderment on Maud's face made Cavendish feel as though he had been slapped by a gale-force palm.
He had embarrassed himself again.
Cavendish felt like dying.
Maud looked strangely at Cavendish's reaction, then glanced at his right hand, which he had just placed on Cavendish's shoulder. Hesitating, he asked, "Did I scare you?"
He thought, I only pressed down on his shoulder. It shouldn't have been that serious, right?
Cavendish instantly turned to stone.
Admitting it felt wrong, but denying it also felt wrong, so he fell silent.
Maud did not mind and went straight to the point. "Cavendish, use the Den Den Mushi to contact your crew and have them prepare to set sail as soon as possible."
After a pause, Maud continued, "As for the departure time, let's set it for three days from now."
Cavendish broke out in a cold sweat and asked, "I... I don't really understand what you mean."
Maud said amiably, "Simply put, you and your ship are coming with me for a trip."
Cavendish's expression shook. He took a deep breath and gritted his teeth as he asked, "What exactly are you trying to do?"
If he was going to suffer humiliation, he would rather die.
"Nothing much. I'm just a little interested in your 'body.' As long as you cooperate obediently, I can guarantee that I'll let you go afterward."
"My—my body?!"
Cavendish's face instantly went pale.
At that moment, he finally understood why Maud had killed the other Supernovas without batting an eye, yet spared his life.
Looking at Cavendish's reaction, Maud knew he had misunderstood, but he could not be bothered to explain. He returned to the bar and sat down.
