The sudden voice made Chopper and Miss Valentine's hearts jolt.
They both looked toward the direction the female voice had come from almost at the same time.
Perona was dragging the severely wounded and unconscious Zoro toward them at a brisk pace.

In her panic, Miss Valentine didn't care whether Perona had a gun or not. She instinctively identified Perona as the suspect.

Perona was slightly stunned. She looked at the flustered Miss Valentine in confusion.
But since she knew what had happened, she quickly understood the situation.
"You're going to die soon anyway, so I'll let you die knowing the truth."
Perona muttered, releasing Zoro's wrist before putting both hands on her hips.
"Listen carefully. I wasn't the one who fired the shot. It was Maud."
"Maud? Maud!! It was him!!! How could it be him!!!"
Just hearing Maud's name turned Miss Valentine's face deathly pale, and her entire body began to tremble.
Without hesitation, she immediately dug through the hard stone slab and squeezed her curvy body into the tunnel she had opened.
