While his Pokémon trained outside, Qing Wu hurriedly prepared to make a new batch of Poffins.
The previous Basic Poffins no longer had any effect on Zubat and Kecleon.
Qing Wu needed to formulate Poffins tailored to the physiques of Zubat and Kecleon respectively.
Qing Wu sorted the required Berries into categories. For a Breeding Master, a simple heft of a Berry told him its weight.
Qing Wu washed each Berry clean with spring water and set them to dry under the sun.
Otherwise, too much moisture in the Berries would make it impossible to precisely control the ratio of each ingredient, affecting the quality of the Poffins. The final product would either fail or be less effective.
For Qing Wu, who strictly controlled the quality of his Poffins, any flaw in the finished product was unacceptable.
Qing Wu took out a finely crafted wooden knife and board, peeled and cored the Berries that needed chopping, cut them into suitable small pieces, and mashed them in a large wooden bowl.
These were simple tools Qing Wu had made himself, but for a master breeder like him, simple tools were enough.
After mashing the Berries, Qing Wu added medicinal herbs and ground them again, turning the Berries and herbs into a fine, grainy paste.
Qing Wu placed this paste into a wooden bucket wrapped in layers of gauze, carefully squeezed out the juice, and filtered it several times in succession.
Only when the juice became clear and bright did Qing Wu begin to stir continuously.
With the system's assistance, not only was the stirring speed directly projected, but even the stirring time was precise to the second.
Finally, Qing Wu poured the juice into a container and waited two hours for it to cool into a gelatinous Poffin.
After finishing this, Qing Wu took out more ingredients. This time, he was making Poffins specifically for detoxification.
After all, there were many Poison Pokémon on this Trial Island.
By the time the two little ones flew back, Qing Wu had exhausted all the materials in his wristband, converting them into countless Poffins.
"These Poffins should be enough for a while," Qing Wu murmured to himself.
Just then, Zubat and Kecleon flew back. Kecleon used Rock Slide in front of Qing Wu.
Countless earthy yellow rocks fell from the sky, landing before Qing Wu.
"I didn't expect you to learn Rock Slide on your own after just one trip out."
Qing Wu patted Kecleon's cute little head and laughed happily.
Kecleon was quite proud. While Zubat was carrying it through the air, it suddenly realized that Rock Tomb could also be used in the sky—it just needed to release Rock-type energy in midair.
Kecleon practiced a few more times and mastered Rock Slide on its own.
Kecleon's little seat was also filled with materials it had found.
Big Root, Miracle Seed... and even some scattered fragments of Evolution Stones.
Although there were no complete Evolution Stones, they could still be exchanged for a decent number of Points.
Over these three days, Qing Wu lived the most peaceful days with Kecleon and Zubat.
Every day, Zubat would carry Kecleon out of the cave and into the sky, where Kecleon's bell-like laughter often rang out.
Now, both Kecleon and Zubat had undergone earth-shaking changes.
Zubat's wings were strong and powerful, like unsheathed blades. With proper nutrition, its body had doubled in size.
Kecleon's shell was smooth and silver-bright, and its body had more than doubled in size as well.
Kecleon's favorite daily activity was using Rock Tomb to dig out treasures buried deep underground.
By now, Kecleon's foundation had been mostly restored.
Qing Wu noticed that the luster of Kecleon's Deep Green Quality even carried a hint of cyan.
Zubat had also gotten used to using Tailwind constantly, turning it into a passive skill ingrained in muscle memory.
As soon as one Tailwind ended, another one would activate.
Qing Wu's spirits were also improving. His once gaunt cheeks had filled out, and with his straight nose, long, slightly curled eyelashes, and deep, dark eyes, he looked increasingly handsome and radiant.
The entire cave was filled with countless precious medicinal herbs. Qing Wu made these herbs into sachets, which he carried on his person, giving off a unique fragrance.
Qing Wu had carefully covered the cave floor with dried, soft grass and even made a wooden table and chairs.
On the cave ceiling, Qing Wu had woven a small nest for Zubat out of vines, padded with soft grass and dried herbs.
This allowed Zubat, after a day of training, to quickly fall asleep and recover its strength.
There were many Pokémon populations nearby. Qing Wu spent three days drawing a rough map.
Around the forest were groups of Beautifly, Pidgeotto, and Arbok. Among them, Pidgeotto and Arbok were natural enemies of Beautifly.
However, Beautifly's reproduction rate was higher than that of Pidgeotto and Arbok, maintaining a strange balance.
Qing Wu's goal today was to spy on the Pidgeotto group and see if there were any high-quality Pidgeotto he could exchange for Points.
This Trial Island was quite large, and naturally, it was home to many Pokémon, but these Pokémon were all protected by their groups.
With only two Pokémon, Qing Wu couldn't afford to provoke these groups yet.
Strangely enough, Qing Wu hadn't encountered any Trial Participants at all.
Qing Wu had lived alone in the forest for a while. During this time, he hadn't even seen a few wisps of cooking smoke in the distance.
Walking through the forest undergrowth, Qing Wu unexpectedly noticed several Trial Participants today who seemed to be searching for something.
"Everyone look around, it's right around here—this is a rare Green Quality Pokémon."
A chubby Trial Participant said loudly, as if he were the little leader of this group.
"Fat Brother, are you sure it's a Green Quality Pokémon?" a sharp-faced, scrawny Trial Participant asked doubtfully.
"Absolutely certain, this is intel I got from my brother, how could it be fake?" Fat Brother said smugly.
Fat Brother also had a piece of parchment in his hand, with the Pokémon's appearance drawn on it.
Qing Wu happened to catch a glimpse of the Pokémon on the parchment—it was a Bellsprout.
"A Green Quality Bellsprout." Qing Wu's mind stirred. Even if he didn't use this Pokémon himself, it would be excellent for trading in resources.
Qing Wu thought to himself, but from the grass nearby came a rustling sound.
A Bellsprout stumbled out, drooling, its yellow head shaped like a trumpet, with small black eyes, moving along on its roots.
Qing Wu scanned it with his system and immediately got the Bellsprout's info—it was indeed that Green Quality Bellsprout.
But this Bellsprout was injured, a white smoke rising from its body, as if it had been hit directly by a corrosive move.
"Go, Poké Ball." A free Pokémon was not to be passed up. Qing Wu struck first, placing the Poké Ball containing the Bellsprout onto his Wristband.
Qing Wu carefully backed away, quietly slipping out of this forest while Fatty and his group hadn't noticed.
But Qing Wu didn't know why today, but he kept running into Trial Participants one after another, including Lan Ling, whom he had just met.
Lan Ling was holding a small Smoochum in her arms, also searching for something.
