Leiming drove deep into Viridian Forest. Beside a clear lake, he pressed the red button in the car, and a huge passage slowly rose from the water. It was one of the entrances to Team Rocket's headquarters.
Qing Wu noticed that there were suddenly many more Pokémon in Viridian Forest. He had even spotted traces of Rookidee in the woods.
Once the passage had fully opened, Leiming stepped on the accelerator. With a sharp screech, the off-road vehicle charged straight into the passage. Before long, the passage sank back beneath the lake.
After driving for nearly ten minutes, Leiming finally saw a massive metal door. A huge red R symbol was painted on it, while two enormous cannons stood on either side. Upon detecting their arrival, the cannons automatically rotated and aimed at Qing Wu and Leiming.
Qing Wu and Leiming stopped the car on the ground marked with an R. The vehicle was then rotated and sent to Team Rocket's warehouse for storage.
"Please proceed with identity verification."
A machine-generated voice sounded beside Qing Wu and Leiming's ears.
After Qing Wu and Leiming separately underwent fingerprint and iris scans, the metal door before them opened. The ready-to-fire cannons also rotated back into position.
"There are many checkpoints for entering Team Rocket's headquarters."
Only after passing three consecutive rounds of authentication did Qing Wu and Leiming arrive at the reception hall of Team Rocket's headquarters. Team Rocket's elite members were stationed there.
