Apollo had secretly pledged allegiance to Sakaki before Sakaki had risen to power, becoming Sakaki's hidden agent within Team Rocket.
Much of the time, Sakaki and Apollo had deliberately acted as if they were at odds, making outsiders believe that the two were bitter enemies. In truth, Apollo was Sakaki's most trusted subordinate aside from Cang and Qiong.
Two days later, the water level of a lake in Viridian Forest suddenly dropped. In the blink of an eye, the lake had dried up completely, leaving numerous Magikarp and Goldeen flopping and leaping across the lakebed.
At the bottom of the lake stood a gigantic circular metal door marked with an R symbol. It was opening layer by layer, and a colossal Team Rocket transport aircraft capable of carrying more than a hundred people rose directly through it.
The transport aircraft had two propellers on top, along with numerous ailerons. It could fly through the air as steadily as if it were walking on level ground, and could even withstand gale-force winds of level fifteen.
Qing Wu had entered the transport aircraft early. He found a seat at random and sat down with his eyes closed, because he knew it would still take some time to fly from here to the island where the assessment would take place.
Before long, all the assessment participants had entered the cabin, but the aircraft was still not full.
Not long afterward, the transport aircraft started automatically.
Then Qing Wu saw the largest television in the cabin turn on. Two people in black robes and masks appeared on the screen.
"Hello, everyone. We're the instructors responsible for this assessment, the brothers Cang
