"Little brother, staying the night?" The landlady waved her hand as if shooing flies, sending the four or five men gathered around her away. She tugged down her collar, making the snowy expanse beneath it even more obvious—especially that bottomless valley, which invited all sorts of thoughts.
Before Luo Yan could answer, a man with a missing front tooth and yellow, lusterless hair like a bundle of dead grass laughed. "Isn't that obvious? You run an inn. If he's not staying the night, why else would he come here?"
A broad-faced man with layers of flesh on his cheeks laughed. A centipede-like scar ran across his face, and whenever he grinned, it looked even more ferocious.
"Yellow Hair, you're not going to sell the landlady something to eat?"
"Look at that kid. He still reeks of milk. Perfect for our landlady to feed him with her breast milk until he's full."
Several of the men immediately broke into lecherous laughter.
The landlady shouted angrily, "Get lost! Your dog mouths can't say anything decent. Of course you want to drink this old lady's milk, but even if I squeezed it out to feed the dogs, I wouldn't give it to you for free!"
Her shout only made the men laugh harder, but they still moved away so they wouldn't interfere with the landlady's business.
However, Yellow Hair and the scar-faced man both took several more glances at Luo Yan, especially at his backpack. Then they exchanged a look and went outside.
Luo Yan came to the counter and said in a deep voice, "One room."
The landlady greeted him with a smile. "Little brother, where are you from? Are you alone? It's cold lately. Do you want me to give you an extra blanket?"
