This ancient town in the north lacked the southern elegance and poetic charm, but it possessed the north's unique boldness and grandeur, solemn and weathered.
The ancient town lay in the plains. The magnificent ten-thousand-mile river flowed nearby, giving birth to the area's distinctive culture and character.
The Giant Beast Calamity had not destroyed this place. Instead, after the disaster, the survivors in the region gradually gathered in Datian Town.
The town stood beside the river and had abundant freshwater resources.

The teahouse's owner was known as Master Luo San. He was a middle-aged man with one leg shorter than the other and had only come to the old town after the Giant Beast Calamity.
In the past, Datian Town had not had many permanent residents, and most of the town's young people had gone to the cities to work. The teahouse had been created after the Luo family arrived in town, by taking over several residences and knocking them together.
Master Luo San was naturally quite powerful to be able to deal in intelligence, but he had suffered a serious illness the previous year.
He had spent all of this year bedridden, leaving the business largely to his little nephew.
Everyone had originally thought Master Luo San would not survive the year, so some people had begun to stir, wanting to seize the teahouse business.
