"Following your orders, we reinforced the guards at the Iron Gate and moved all the ammunition from the warehouses there as well, ensuring that we'd have enough firepower to use."
The base commander reported everything point by point.
Chen Chaoyuan removed his coat and handed it to his secretary. He then made a circuit of the Command Hall before taking a seat.
"Don't let your guard down. Chunshen Technology dared to provoke us, so they must have some tricks up their sleeve."
"Didn't I order you to scout their forces? Do we have the results?"
The base commander hurriedly nodded. "We do."
He then made a gesture. A moment later, images appeared on a screen in front of Chen Chaoyuan.
The images showed a long convoy traveling across the land. Among the vehicles, the several mecha carriers were the most eye-catching.
Chen Chaoyuan's pupils contracted slightly. "Eight? They actually have eight mecha!"
The base commander nodded, fine beads of sweat appearing on his forehead.
He knew that the base only had two permanently stationed mecha. Even if Chen Chaoyuan transported his own mecha here and transferred two more from elsewhere, they would have only five.
However, all five of those mecha were new models. In terms of performance, they were far superior to the old-fashioned mecha used by most surface bases.
Chen Chaoyuan said in a low voice, "It doesn't matter. Eight is still only eight. Having more units doesn't necessarily mean they have the advantage."
"Notify the Mech Masters. Have them stand by at the base and prepare to deploy at any time."
After the base commander left, Chen Chaoyuan took out his phone and made a call.
The call was answered quickly, and a man's voice came through the receiver.
"Mister Chen, what makes you call me today?
