After gathering some information at the bar, Luo Yan left the camp. At dawn the next day, he arrived in a city not far from Yunlang Highway.
The city was enormous and had been abandoned for a long time. It was obvious that it had seen the flames of war.
Buildings had collapsed, and the ground was covered in rubble. Only the western district remained relatively intact.
Judging from the extent of the destruction, giant beasts and mechs had probably fought here. Every so often, Luo Yan could even see shell casings as large as oil drums, their surfaces covered in moss.
That Mister Zhao had been active here. Luo Yan watched his recording stop a vehicle outside a nearby shopping mall.
Following the recording into the building, Luo Yan discovered that Mister Zhao had gone down to the first basement level.
The first basement level had originally been a subway platform, but there were no trains there—only a pitch-black tunnel.
Darkness had never troubled Luo Yan.
He activated Divine Treasure. In his field of vision, everything in the tunnel was outlined by black lines.
Mister Zhao's recording showed him walking forward. Luo Yan followed the recording through the tunnel. Before long, not long after leaving the platform, the assassin entered an opening.
Behind the opening, he had set up a tripwire using grenades and rope—a simple trap.
Luo Yan carefully stepped over the rope, which reached his calves, so as not to trigger the grenade taped to the wall on the other side of the opening.
Passing through the opening, he entered another passage. From there, he made his way through a complex underground maze.
Mister Zhao did not walk quickly. He stopped at every intersection, then bit a flashlight between his teeth while writing and sketching in a
