It seemed to hear Lu Xinyue's voice. Liu Lijun's body trembled slightly, but she didn't turn around. She merely spoke.
"Xinyue, is that you?"
Lu Xinyue said happily, "It's me, it's me, Sister Jun."
"I came to find you, and I brought my dad too."
Lu Hongyun also called out, "Lijun, are you all right?"
With her back to everyone, Liu Lijun said, "I'm fine. I'm doing very well."
Lu Xinyue walked forward. "That's good, Sister Jun. Let's go back."
She wanted to go over to Liu Lijun, but a hand stopped her.
Lian Hengshan held Lu Xinyue back and looked at Liu Lijun ahead. "Turn around."
After a moment of silence, Liu Lijun said, "I can't."
Lu Hongyun froze. "Why?"
Liu Lijun raised a hand and pointed deeper into the Mirror Room. "It won't let me."
"Who?"
Lian Hengshan immediately raised his rifle and shone its flashlight farther ahead, but there was nothing in front of Liu Lijun.
There was nothing at the end of the passage either.
Liu Lijun said in panic, "I can't say. I can't say."
Lian Hengshan immediately said, "Let's go. We're leaving."
"She's acting strange. This could be a trap."
Lu Xinyue cried out, "No!"
"We went through so much trouble to find Sister Jun. We can't just abandon her."
Lian Hengshan wasn't nearly as patient. He roughly shoved Lu Xinyue backward. "I'm not asking for your opinion, Young Miss!"
After coming to a stop, Lu Xinyue charged forward in a burst, seemingly unwilling to give up.
But Lian Hengshan caught her around the waist and lifted her up.
"Let go of me!"
"Dad, tell him to put me down!"
Lu Xinyue shouted and struggled.
Lian Hengshan snorted and simply slapped Lu Xinyue unconscious. Then he said, "Let's get out of here!"
