When Luo Yan walked out of the camp, the two guards at the gate looked somewhat surprised. One of the younger guards instinctively raised his rifle, but the bearded man beside him pushed it back down.
Luo Yan acted as though he had not seen any of this and quickened his pace as he left.
He returned to the military jeep, opened the door, and roughly pulled Yang Xueli out of the vehicle.
"What are you doing?"
Yang Xueli cried out and deftly drew a short blade from behind her waist, stabbing it toward Luo Yan's lower abdomen.
But the moment she thrust it out, the short blade stopped. Luo Yan had caught it between two fingers.
With a tug, he pulled the short blade from Yang Xueli's hand. The hilt scraped against her tender palm, breaking the skin and making her cry out in pain.
Luo Yan picked up the short blade and pressed its tip against Yang Xueli's bulging chest. In a calm voice, he said, "The person I'm looking for wasn't at Obsidian Bar."
"The camp's owner, Jiang Guo, was impersonating Qu Zheng and plotting something sinister."
"What role did you 'Locksmiths' play in this?"
"Think carefully before you answer."
"Because you only have one chance."
With that, Luo Yan pressed the short blade down slightly. The tip pierced Yang Xueli's coat and drew a bead of blood on her fair chest.
Yang Xueli's breathing quickened. "Impossible."
"The boss told me to bring you here."
"He wouldn't sell me out too, would he?"
The girl seemed to think of something. Her expression changed, and she began cursing. "That bastard Tao Ye! To lure you into his trap, he didn't hesitate to sacrifice me!"
She looked at Luo Yan. "Our boss is Tao Ye. Yesterday, I heard him
