Inside the cockpit of the Great Knight mecha, the colonel operating it suddenly changed expression. His gaze shifted away from Alpha Squad below and landed on a black mecha not far away.
The knight-class mecha had been cleaved in two. The Energy Core inside the chassis erupted violently, and Blazing Flame gushed from every part of the mecha, sending armor fragments, components, and cables flying in all directions.
They fell like torrential rain onto the nearby streets and the dilapidated buildings on either side.
Only after the knight-class mecha collapsed did the colonel see a silver-white mecha in Warrior Style sheath a greatsword.
The computer immediately displayed the mecha's energy level. Looking at the data on the command console, the colonel drew a deep breath. "A Divine General Mecha from the Strategic Affairs Department!"
He naturally knew that the Giant Beast Strategy Department's Divine General mecha was comparable in performance to their own Great Knight mecha.
What the colonel did not know was where this Divine General mecha had come from. If the Easterners on the opposite bank had launched an attack, why had the Blagoveshchensk command center not issued an alert?

No sooner had he spoken than the colonel heard an alarm. A mecha signal had appeared behind him and was approaching at incredible speed.

The Great Knight mecha turned around. Looking out through the panoramic viewport, the colonel saw buildings in the distance leaning and collapsing, thick smoke billowing everywhere.
