"Du, Du Jun..."
The captain looked outside the panoramic viewport, his gaze falling on the mech that had been hit.
The mech's head had been completely shattered. The pilot inside naturally hadn't survived.
It had all happened too quickly. The pilot hadn't even had time to activate his escape measures before the beam struck him. He had vanished from this world without even leaving behind a corpse.
The scene was so brutal that everyone stared in stunned silence.
Only after a moment did furious roars ring out over the squad channel.
"Du Jun!"
"Damn beast! He'd only just had a child, and now he's dead! What are his wife and child supposed to do?"
"Bastard! I'll fight you to the death!"
Several mechs opened fire toward the direction from which the beam had come. Streams of Primal Energy light blasted into the woods, quickly setting off a series of explosions.
The earth trembled, and trees toppled.
Amid the flames of the explosions, a row of dazzling streaks of light suddenly rose into the air.
After sweeping into the sky, the radiance arced back down, drawing full, graceful trajectories through the air.
In an instant, a rain of light appeared above the Mecha Squad. Those seemingly gorgeous beams radiated a terrifying aura of destruction.
The captain immediately roared over the squad channel, "Evade! Don't come into contact with those beams!"
As he shouted, he also manipulated his mech to swing its greatsword, scattering broad swaths of sword light and cleaving two of the streaks apart.
The next second, the rain of light shrieked down. It caused no explosions, merely piercing through anything it touched.
