In the Command Hall of the fortress's main building, Li Bingyan watched the three clusters of starlight descend toward the fortress on the screen, and her face paled.
Her tightly clenched hands clenched even harder.
She could even imagine that the cluster of starlight descending toward the Command Hall would blast into the hall in an instant.
Then she and all the base personnel in the hall would vanish into the starlight, leaving not even their bones behind!
Just as despair took hold, a patch of green suddenly appeared on the screen.
The three clusters of starlight slammed into the green light curtain and vanished completely, like mud cows sinking into the sea.
Then a rich voice rang out from the communicator: "Lieutenant Colonel Li, are you all right?"
It was the voice of Zhao Chu, the "Tianwei Star."
Li Bingyan's spirits lifted.
The Tianwei Squad had arrived!

Zhao Chu chuckled softly. "Sorry, we arrived a little late."

Zhao Chu continued, "Lieutenant Colonel Li, our Tianwei Squad will handle things from here. Have your people withdraw first."
Li Bingyan quickly agreed, then contacted the base mecha pilots. "Thanks for your hard work. Leave the rest to the Tianwei Squad. Come back first."
Hearing this, the pilots inside the base mecha all breathed sighs of relief.
They did not fear sacrificing themselves, but if they had a chance to live, that was naturally better than throwing their lives away.
Thus, the remaining base mecha began to retreat.
