The remaining mecha came to Shan Jun's corpse and began taking out various tools.

This was a recovery squad.
Outside the Desperate Battlefield, recovery squads were usually not equipped with mecha.
But inside the Desperate Battlefield, recovery squad members were generally battle-hardened warriors.
