After the time-reversal effect ended, the Mei Ba clone stared blankly, seemingly unable to understand what had just happened.
However, it quickly took action. Raising its greatsword, it brought it down in a slash.
It attacked Raphael again.
This time, however, Michael stepped in front of Raphael, raised his Sacred Shield, and activated a barrier of light.
On the golden barrier, a silver cross shone brilliantly.
But the clone's sword light shattered it into countless glittering fragments. At the same time, Michael's Sacred Shield was smashed apart, and a wound was carved across the archangel's shoulder. Golden light sprayed out like blood.
Raphael behind him was injured as well, but at least she was not killed. She waved her hand, and a vast expanse of jade-green light rained down, sinking into her and Michael's wounds.
The two angels' injuries immediately healed.
But by then, two more clones had appeared.
Michael said in a deep voice, "Humans, you'll have to rely on yourselves for the road ahead."
Then he shouted, "Contain the holy relics and stop those three things!"
From within Michael's heart, the silver-haired old man drew a short spear. It was covered in rust—the 'holy spear' Longinus.
He stabbed the holy spear into his own body. Instantly, a mass of golden light surged and expanded, spreading into Michael's Energy Body in the blink of an eye.
The silver armor covering the archangel became even more elaborate, and gorgeous golden patterns surfaced across its surface.
A helmet adorned on both sides with golden wings descended, covering most of Michael's face and leaving only the area below his nose exposed.
Long holy ribbons drifted and extended from Michael's back, covered in sacred writing.
Finally, an illusory Golden Cross appeared behind Michael. A figure seemed to be nailed to it.
