Tongtian took the Investiture of the Gods and God-Beating Whip, then checked Jiang Shang’s weak cultivation before leaving him to prepare for the coming tribulation. Yuanshi, newly strengthened and furious with Tongtian, went to Spirit Mountain to confront Jieyin and Zhunti over their absence from the battle at Chaoge.

• Hongjun declared that the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation had begun, then vanished as the Six Saints watched the heavenly secrets grow chaotic.
• Tongtian left with the Investiture of the Gods, returned to Biyou Palace, and found Jiang Shang still stuck at the initial stage of entering the Dao.
• Tongtian decided Jiang Shang would have time to grow stronger and remain safe as the Calamity Responder, then returned to closed-door cultivation.

• Yuanshi visited Nuwa in Wa Huang Heaven and asked her to support the Chan Sect alliance against Tongtian.
