"Hm? Who's talking?!" The girl was first taken aback, then startled. She abruptly turned toward the source of the voice, flames appearing in both palms.
Before she could see the other person, though, she felt a powerful force envelop her entire body and forcibly drag her toward somewhere unknown.
At the same time, with a crash, the three walls outside the house were pushed down at once. Numerous shield-bearing soldiers and Magic-armored Knights appeared in the courtyard, surrounding the house from all sides.
Gao Wen rode on horseback at the rear of the group, narrowing his eyes as he looked into the house.
"Miss Annie, you actually dared to return to Saint Louis City? I truly didn't expect that. But since you've come back, don't even think about leaving. After all, this is no longer the Saint Louis City of more than four months ago."
Gao Wen spoke in a low voice and waved his hand. The many soldiers cautiously charged into the house.
One minute later.
Gao Wen stood atop the ruins of the house, which the soldiers had flattened. Dust slowly drifted through the air around him.
Gao Wen frowned tightly and turned to the soldier beside him to confirm, "You found nothing?"
"Yes, sir, we really found nothing," the soldier answered carefully. "No secret passage, no cellar, but the person really is gone."
"How is that possible?" Gao Wen pressed his lips together, clearly unconvinced.
The soldiers gathered behind him suddenly parted, and a Wizard dressed in black robes walked over. "It was the power of a spell," he said.
"The power of a spell?" Gao Wen looked at the speaking Wizard. He was once a Level 3 Wizard of the Pombo Family and was now temporarily cooperating with him. "Master Sino, can you be sure?"
