Seeing the shadow stand up, Richard was somewhat shocked.
Though he had already been prepared for it, seeing it truly happen still felt unbelievable.
He already knew quite a bit about out-of-body experiences. It was a necessary stage in a wizard's meditation training. Yet since leaving the Blue Lion Kingdom and setting foot on the path to pursue the truth of the world, he had seen countless wizards, but aside from himself, he had never seen anyone able to retain their consciousness and move freely after leaving their body.
According to his previous speculation, perhaps wizards being unable to retain their consciousness after leaving their bodies was normal. Some invisible casing protected those wizards, making them people within a casing.
As for him, perhaps strange factors such as "transmigration" had meant that he had been born without that protective casing, allowing him to become the world's sole free person and gain all kinds of advantages.
And now, he saw a second free person.
Making an effort to steady his emotions, Richard looked toward the shadow that had stepped out from the Eight-Armed Skeleton's body and found its form extremely blurry.
He could not tell whether it was male or female, or even whether it was human. It was merely a mass of white shadow.
That was normal enough. The form of a consciousness body could be completely adjusted through one's consciousness. If one wished, one could turn into a dog or a dragon. But out of habit and due to certain psychological factors, he had always maintained his consciousness body in human form.
At that moment, the Eight-Armed Skeleton's consciousness body produced a faint ripple of thought. Richard heard a voice reach him. It sounded vague and childish, like a babbling infant with unclear pronunciation, but its meaning was still
