Pompeii Town, underground beneath Residence No. 1248, near the end of a passageway.
"Pop!"
Long Mei Er reached out and poked the scarlet barrier in front of him. Watching it burst like a bubble, his eyes flickered slightly.
What was that? A Warning Spell? But wasn't it a little too crude? It wasn't even concealed. It would be far too easy for someone to avoid or counter... Long Mei Er thought, paying it no mind. His feet did not stop in the slightest as he continued forward at tremendous speed, each stride carrying him several meters.
"Tap."
The instant his foot landed, a rumble sounded behind him. A seven- or eight-meter stretch of the passageway collapsed without warning, blocking the way back.
Long Mei Er glanced over his shoulder, understanding dawning on him.
Mm... if I'm not mistaken, there was a second concealed Warning Spell within that first Warning Spell. Whether or not the first spell was triggered, once the second detected an intruder, it would activate immediately. Once activated, the passageway would collapse and bury the intruder here. That's somewhat interesting. It does fit Wizard Richard's style a little, but...
But the flaw is obvious as well... Long Mei Er lightly shook his head, making his assessment inwardly. This combination of Warning Spell and trap might work against weaker people, but against someone like me, it falls short.
Like him, who feared none of the unknown arrangements within the passageway and moved at an extremely high speed, he had simply avoided the ambush of the collapsing passageway—the trap had activated, but it had served little purpose.
Its only effect was perhaps blocking the route behind him. But with his strength, if he truly wanted to leave, he could blast his way through in a few seconds at most. That
