The strange beetle-like creature paid no heed to the buzzing of the countless bees.
After crawling out of the hive, it turned back and lowered its head to gnaw at the remains of the hive.
"Crunch, crunch..."
Before long, the entire hive had been swallowed by the beetle, and its body grew by nearly half.
"Hiss, hiss~"
After finishing the hive, the beetle let out a cry. Its compound eyes turned as it looked to one side, its gaze falling on the trees at the edge of the clearing.
The next moment, the six thick, stubby legs beneath its abdomen pushed off together, carrying it toward the trees at a speed of barely one meter per second.
More than ten seconds later, it laboriously reached a tree. It brought its head close, opened its mouth, and bit down savagely on the trunk.
"Crack!"
With a sharp sound, the bark split and wood chips flew. The beetle's teeth were like sharp blades, easily cutting into the trunk. It swallowed chunks of wood and gulped them down.
"Crunch, crunch, crunch..."
The beetle repeated the motion, feeding at a rapid pace. In the blink of an eye, it had chewed a huge hollow into the entire tree.
"Bang!"
With a loud crash, the beetle lowered its head, wrapped in thick black armor, and slammed it heavily into the trunk. With a crack, it snapped the whole tree in two, sending it crashing to the ground.
"Crunch, crunch..."
The beetle lowered its body and sped up its biting and chewing. Before long, it had gnawed the entire tree clean.
It was not satisfied with that. Turning its head, it picked another tree, approached it, and began tearing into it.
"Crunch, crunch..."
One tree after another around the clearing visibly fell, all of them swallowed
