Molly felt as though she had dreamed a very, very long dream.
In the dream, she relived her childhood. Then, at a turning point, she embarked on an entirely different life, continuously achieving her goals as she proceeded exceptionally smoothly along the path of restoration.
Just before she achieved final victory, she was jolted awake from her dream. She opened her eyes with a start and saw Richard standing before her, studying her with a scrutinizing gaze. She could not help feeling confused, unable for a moment to process what had happened or where she was.
Snap! Snap!
Richard snapped his fingers twice, producing a grain-sized ball of light at his fingertips that stimulated Molly's eyes. After observing her pupils' response, he nodded. "Mm, everything is normal. Since that's the case, pull yourself together. Stop dreaming, Blood Princess of the Sika Kingdom!"
After saying this and giving Molly time to recover, Richard walked toward the others who were standing there with foolish smiles on their faces and woke them one by one.
Several minutes later, Molly's group had finally all regained consciousness, distinguished illusion from reality, and confirmed that they were still exploring the ruins.
"Whew—"
Taking a deep breath, Molly blinked and looked at Richard, saying somewhat apologetically, "Our people made a mistake. We actually all fell under an illusion. Thanks to you. Now that we've broken free, let's continue exploring these ruins."
"No need," Richard said.
"Hm?"
"I've already finished exploring them."
"Finished exploring?" Molly raised an eyebrow.
"Yes," Richard answered.
"Did you obtain what you wanted?" Molly asked tentatively.
"More or less," Richard replied vaguely.
"What was it?" Molly pressed.
"That's a secret." Richard smiled.
"Uh..."
"Alright. Since you accomplished your goal in this exploration, and I accomplished mine as well, there's no need to stay here
