Bang!
Vincent's corpse hit the ground. The three surviving soldiers could not help taking a step back, staring at Frank as if he were an enemy.
Frank opened his mouth. "You... don't look at me like that. This really has nothing to do with me."
The three soldiers shook their heads in unison, making it clear they did not believe him.
"Damn it!" Frank cursed, then took a deep breath. "Fine, believe it or not, staying alive is what matters now. Stop standing around and fight back, or we'll all die here! Use your arrows to teach those Sika People a hard lesson! Avenge Vincent!"
The three soldiers had no objections. They nocked their arrows and aimed beyond the wall.
Before they could loose their arrows, though, they saw a fireball nearly half the size of a house rise into view and smash toward their sentry post.
"Run—" Frank cried hoarsely, despair creeping into his voice.
Bang! Rumble!
Before he could finish, the entire sentry post collapsed in the explosion, burying everyone beneath the rubble.
Cough, cough!
After an unknown amount of time, Frank woke from unconsciousness. He tried pushing aside the bricks and tiles above his head and stood up. To his surprise, aside from a few superficial wounds, all his limbs were intact.
But that discovery made him happy for only a second. He quickly realized how terrible his current situation was, and his heart sank.
Then he caught sight of someone buried nearby. He hurried over and dug the person out, only to discover it was the sentry post's captain.
"Captain, Captain, how are you?" Frank called, slapping the man's cheeks.
The captain slowly came to. He glanced at Frank, then spat out a mouthful of blood. Weakly, he said, "Frank, I'm afraid I'm done for.
