One minute, two minutes, three minutes...
Amid the piercing sounds of battle, the ground was stained red, corpses lay everywhere, and the Truth Society Wizards had lost nearly a third of their numbers. Gray Mist, too, had been beaten black and blue by the four commanders.
Yet Gray Mist showed no sign of panic. After twisting aside to evade an attack, he said coldly to the four commanders, "Do you know that everything you're doing now is futile? You are destined to fail."
"Is that so?" the Black Armor Commander said coldly, utterly unconvinced. He then thrust out his Greatsword. "Then prove it!"
"Prove it? I will, but not now," Gray Mist said.
"I'm afraid you won't live to see that time," the Black Armor Commander replied grimly, his gaze sharpening. "Die!"
Gripping the hilt with both hands, he drove the Greatsword straight toward Gray Mist's body.
Gray Mist frowned and took a step back. With a wave of his left hand, he condensed a Purple Energy Shield before himself to block the attack. At the same time, he swept out his right hand, forming a cluster of condensed wind blades that shot toward the Black Armor Commander in retaliation.
Seeing the wind blades slash toward him, the Black Armor Commander did not evade. He charged forward head-on and drove his Greatsword heavily into the Purple Energy Shield.
"Die!"
The Black Armor Commander shouted and unleashed his full strength. With a pfft, the Greatsword pierced through the Energy Shield and stabbed into Gray Mist's body with lightning speed.
Gray Mist's body jolted. He looked somewhat surprised at the Greatsword embedded in him, opened his mouth, but made no sound, as though he had frozen for an instant.
