Ma Qiu ultimately chose Spell Linguistics.
The reason he chose this subject as the focus of his studies for the next three years was not because he loved it deeply. It was entirely because Ma Qiu had seriously considered one question: what advantages did he have?
For someone who had only just met Atlantis University's admission requirements, he was actually quite poor. So the question before him was what he could do, not what he wanted to do.
He had heard that getting into Atlantis University did not mean one was safe. Atlantis University followed a strict admissions and graduation policy. Since it had only been established recently, the "strict admissions" part might still have been somewhat lax, but the "strict graduation" part was genuinely enforced.
So if one performed too poorly at Atlantis University, they could very well be expelled directly.
Ma Qiu absolutely did not want to become one of them.
With that in mind, given his own language skills, making Spell Linguistics his research direction was probably the best choice.
And so, Ma Qiu submitted his application and began his university life.
At the very beginning of university life, Ma Qiu's strongest impression was that Atlantis University was far too empty.
Yes, too empty.
The university grounds were extremely vast. There were seven or eight Stone Towers for student housing alone, each carefully designed to accommodate over a thousand people.
Yet even a month after the term began, less than half of those Stone Towers had residents.
During the day, it was not too noticeable, and the campus still seemed fairly lively. But once night fell, the grounds became eerie and ghostly. Walking along the university paths, cold winds swept past in gusts, making it feel like a cemetery.
There were simply too few people in
