After quite a while, Abel, sitting on the ground, lowered the hand covering his scalp and looked at Richard. His voice had become somewhat hoarse as he asked, "Are you saying that every catastrophe the entire Ancient Wizard Civilization experienced was man-made?"
"It's possible. At the very least, I think the Five Spells on the scroll can explain why you were unable to stop the disasters that occurred on this plane." Richard analyzed rationally. "Back then, you believed that spells had caused the Plane Disaster. That wasn't wrong, except they weren't the spells you were experimenting with, but spells on paper that someone else had secretly tested. So no matter what you did, you couldn't affect the disaster."
"But..." The muscles on Abel's face twisted, full of confusion. "But where did these Five Spells on the paper come from?"
"Then you'll have to ask yourself."
"Ask me?"
"Yes, ask you." Richard said, "I want to ask you: are you sure you were the first person to use Otai's Brain to search for the Ultimate Spell?
"You told me before that after Otai's Brain was created, it was used to contact other planes and process enormous amounts of data. So can you be certain that, while processing that data, no one stole part of its computing power to calculate something else?
"Also, you said that after the White Light Cataclysm, Otai's Brain sat unused for a period of time. Can you be sure it was truly left unused? Or was it still being used, just without anyone discovering it?
"Finally, when you used Otai's Brain to search for the Ultimate Spell, were the others truly helping you and working for you? Were you really the one in control of everything? Or was there... someone else?"
"This..." Abel's expression changed several times
