Afterward, Raymond thought of many more things.

For instance, the man was a key target of his organization and had to be killed; otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable. Out of arrogance, he had chosen to act alone this time. Now that the plan had failed, things would truly be difficult to handle.

As he was thinking, Raymond suddenly raised his brows and saw the rapidly fleeing man collide with a transparent Air Wall the next instant. His body halted for a moment before, with a bang, he was flung high into the air.

The man was clearly caught off guard, but he reacted quickly. He swiftly adjusted his posture in midair, preparing to land steadily.

But then, a series of whooshes rang out. Three Pure Energy Spears gleaming with golden light appeared beside the man and pierced his body like lightning.

"Aah!"

The man screamed in agony, his entire body trembling violently.

But it was of no use. One golden Energy Spear after another appeared, continuously stabbing into his body until he was practically turned into a hedgehog.

A moment later, with a bang, the man fell from midair to the ground. The Energy Spears on his body dissipated. He did not move, and no breath remained.

"Tap, tap, tap..."

Footsteps sounded as a tall, thin, stern-faced middle-aged man appeared beside the dead man.

The middle-aged man's eyes were as still as an ancient well, as if he had already lost all human emotion. Nothing seemed capable of surprising him.

He slowly walked over to the dead man, inspected him, then stood and looked toward Raymond.

Raymond pursed his lips, looking slightly nervous. He quickly approached the middle-aged man, bowed, and greeted him. "Greetings, Canon Supervisor. You... why are you here?"

The middle-aged man named Canon did not answer
