Not far northwest of Shangbala Town stood a small hill with an iron mine on it. Its scale was neither small nor large, merely medium-sized at best.
There were dozens of similar mines near Shangbala Town. Since this one had been the thirteenth to begin excavation, it was called Thirteen Mine.
The owner of Thirteen Mine was named Hua Erzi. His name was elegant, but in truth, he was nothing more than a nouveau riche.
Under him, more than a hundred Miners were employed to extract ore. They generally worked during the day and rested at night. The main reason was that the hill where Thirteen Mine was located was too narrow, and the storage warehouses built there were not large enough. Among all the guards, the highest-ranking was a man named Hua Nuo.
He was around twenty years old, somewhat unkempt, and not particularly sturdy. Instead, he was tall and thin, with a pale face that made him look rather frail.
