Hua Wen had kept some things from Didak and Bo Fei, but in their eyes, he had already revealed enough information.

Didak looked at Hua Wen seriously. "Hua Wen, since you manage the mine... well, part of it, could you hire the two of us at the mine?"

"What, neither of you signed up?" Hua Wen asked in surprise.

"Uh, well, we arrived a little late and happened to miss the registration," Didak explained awkwardly, scratching his head.

"I see..." Hua Wen frowned. "Strictly speaking, I do have the authority to hire the two of you, but the positions are already filled. Hiring you would put us over the limit. And I can't just cross out someone else's name and replace it with yours. Mine Owner Hua Erzi is very strict about that sort of thing..."

As Hua Wen continued explaining, Didak and Bo Fei looked up and asked, "Does that mean that even though you manage the mine, you still can't help us?"

Now that Hua Wen's status had risen, he needed recognition from others. If he could not help his friends, he would not only feel guilty, but frustrated as well. So he genuinely wanted to help Didak and Bo Fei solve their problem.
