Richard pushed open the door and entered the Main Laboratory. He sat down before the circular experiment table, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Earlier, when he had promised the Lich Old Man that he would try to finish the task and return within seven days, it had been partly to reassure the Lich Old Man and partly because he truly did not want to spend too much time on this matter, lest the Ancient Tree Species Tinwood or other matters undergo unforeseen changes.
However, finishing within seven days would not be easy.
The place where the task was located was not particularly close. Half of those seven days would be spent traveling there and back, leaving only the other half to actually carry out the task.
After all, it was a sizable city. Although he knew the book was held by an ancient Wizard family, he did not know its exact location, making it rather difficult to find. The search would require not only ability, but also a certain amount of luck.
If his luck was poor, then even if he arrived and sent out his spiritual body to conduct a carpet search, he might spend days and nights without finding a single clue.
To avoid achieving nothing, he had better learn about the city before setting out and obtain enough clues.
