After the consciousness body shot out of the room, Richard controlled it to rise rapidly. Before long, it had climbed several hundred meters into the air. From here, he could take in all of Saint Louis City, while above him stretched a brilliant starry sky that made one feel involuntarily insignificant.
But Richard had no mood to appreciate any of it. After surveying his surroundings and identifying the direction, he followed his memories and flew toward the manor outside Saint Louis City that he had visited before.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—
Under his control, the consciousness body moved swiftly and reached the skies above the manor outside the city moments later.
Through the consciousness body's unique vision, Richard was able to see the manor's situation in greater detail.
The manor was indeed enormous. It had previously been estimated to be four or five times the size of Blue Lake Manor, but including the sunken terrain that had been inadvertently overlooked, it might be six times as large.
Of it, roughly one-third was covered by lake water, another third by dense woods, and the remaining third was wild land overgrown with weeds.
Three visibly dilapidated stone buildings stood amid the wilderness, swaying slightly in the night wind. Their outer walls were covered in dense cracks, with stone chips occasionally falling away. They looked as pitiful as abandoned orphans.
What was surprising, however, was that lights were on inside those stone buildings.
Richard controlled the consciousness body and moved it to a lit window. Inside, he saw a hunched old man sitting in a chair, staring at the rough wall and muttering something under his breath.
Was this Arun Pombo?
Richard guessed, then dismissed the thought.
There were no mana fluctuations from the other man's body, and he was dressed as a servant.
