Creak!
With a sound, the door to the neighboring room opened, and Brando, still unaware of what had happened, poked his head out.
Watching the Black-armored Soldiers enter Miss Annie's courtyard, he curled his lip and looked at Richard with a hint of schadenfreude. "Ha, those idiots. If they wake Miss Annie up, she'll definitely scold them to death."
Richard neither agreed nor disagreed. "Not necessarily."
"What?" Brando asked suspiciously, craning his neck to look toward Annie's courtyard.
What happened next was completely beyond his expectations. The heavily armored soldiers walked straight to the door, knocked, and entered. They were neither scolded nor reprimanded.
Before long, Miss Annie came out with the heavily armored soldiers. She was wearing yesterday's clothes and looked as though she had not fully woken up, but after rubbing her eyes, her expression turned unusually grave.
Walking up to Brando and Richard, Annie instructed, "You two stay here for now. Something has happened at home, and I need to go discuss it."
"Miss Annie, let's go. Everyone is waiting for you," the heavily armored soldier urged.
"I know." Annie followed the heavily armored soldier toward the distance. After turning a corner, she vanished from Richard and Brando's sight.
Only then did Brando slowly realize something was wrong. His gaze lingered on the additional guards nearby before he frowned at Richard and asked, "What's going on? I only slept in like Miss Annie and didn't leave my room all morning. How did things suddenly become like this? Did the Soma Alliance attack?"
For the current Pombo Family, perhaps it would be better if the Soma Alliance really had attacked... Richard thought, but did not say it aloud. Looking at Brando with a stern face, he answered, "I know nothing either, just like you."
