A day later, in the Conference Room of the Truth Society's Delan Branch, Richard met the supervisor, Long Mei Er, who had hurried over.
This time, Long Mei Er was not holding a rabbit as he had before. He sat down directly and looked at Richard as he asked, "Was the mission in Saint Louis City completed?"
"It was." Richard nodded, pulled out the copied Book of the Void from his robe, placed it on the table, and pushed it toward Long Mei Er. "This is the upper half of the book we were looking for. It is the original edition. As agreed, I have come to exchange it for the lower half."
"Very good." Long Mei Er nodded, took the Book of the Void, gave it a brief look through, and put it away. Without further fuss, he flicked his hand and produced a similar Book of the Void, handing it over.
Compared with the book from Saint Louis City, this one had a darker cover, purple-black in color. The book from Saint Louis City had been deep blue.
As he handed over the book, Long Mei Er spoke meaningfully as he looked at Richard. "Wizard Richard, I hope this is the last time you make a request in violation of the rules.
