Cao Xing glanced at the temperature above his head.
Current temperature: 67°C
"This passage is actually colder than it was the last time I came."
Blue figures suddenly emerged from the walls on both sides of the passage.
Their forms flickered erratically, radiating an eerie aura.
Upon closer inspection, they were the Ascalon Undead.
Their pallid faces still bore the expressions they had worn before death, giving off a chilling impression.
As more and more Ascalon Undead appeared, they nearly filled the entire passage.
The intense undead aura carried astonishing cold!
Robin, who was following behind Cao Xing, had already turned pale with fright.
"M-M-M... my lord..."
"Why are there so many undead here?" he asked tremulously.
Cao Xing spread his hands. "You'll have to ask your ancestor about that—the King of Ascalon."
Robin looked utterly confused. He knew nothing about the fall of the Kingdom of Ascalon.
Yet the undead in the passage did not attack Cao Xing. Instead, they stood where they were and parted to make a path for him.
All the undead gripped their weapons tightly, their expressions solemn as though they were welcoming Cao Xing's arrival.
This was a true ceremonial welcome.
After all, Cao Xing could be considered their savior.
Robin also sensed the undead's respect for Cao Xing, and he was greatly astonished.
"This is incredible... Those undead are actually treating Lord Cao Xing so politely!"
Cao Xing shook his head. "Let's go."
They quickly descended underground along the passage.
The familiar sight before them was the entrance to Everhope Hall.
Cao Xing remembered that there was still a tunnel here.
He had crawled in through the tunnel beside it and completed a series of quests.
A sturdy undead clad in heavy armor and wearing a horned helmet swiftly floated over!
