Half an hour later.
The chaotic battlefield at the entrance of the trading post had returned to calm.
The corpses of the White Eagle Mercenary Group members, along with the spoils on them, had all been stored by Cao Xing in the Necrotic Bag and Dragon-patterned Pack.
Even the blood on the ground had been cleaned away, as if nothing had ever happened.
Meanwhile, in a relatively well-preserved hall within a building in the central area of the underground black market.
Cao Xing sat in a broad wooden chair at the head of the hall, while Assam, Isabelle, Broun, and the others sat along both sides.
Leonard sat below him, his face carrying a hint of respect.
A group of pretty maids entered softly, bringing them steaming food and tea. After setting the tea on the tables, they smiled slightly before quietly withdrawing.
Cao Xing picked up his tea and took a light sip. Then he chuckled. "Leonard, you seem to be living quite well here. Your little life is pretty comfortable, huh?"
The burly man wore a fawning smile as he replied humbly, "Not at all. I merely picked up a few advantages."
"It cannot compare to Lord Cao Xing's territory."
"King Kunad once said that you are a great lord with eight Legendary Tier powerhouses under your command."
"Your territory must be prosperous and flourishing, far beyond a small place like ours."
Cao Xing's face immediately darkened. Damn it, his territory had only just reached the scale of a town, and construction on the giant city had only just begun.
This guy really knew how to bring up the wrong subject.
Noticing that something was wrong with Cao Xing's expression, Leonard immediately grew uneasy. However, he had no idea what he had said wrong, leaving him extremely anxious.
