Background / History

Polar People are short-statured inhabitants of the frozen world who can be summoned through a Polar People Hut in exchange for food. Cao Xing constructs the first Polar People Hut on the server, gaining the capacity to recruit four workers; each recruit costs five units of food. The first four emerge from the hut and immediately acknowledge him as their lord. 2

Cao Xing renames the initial group Dazhuang, Erzhuang, Sanzhuang, and Sizhuang. Naming them raises their loyalty, and he organizes them into woodcutting and stone-gathering teams equipped with stone axes and iron pickaxes. 3

After the Polar Dweller Hut reaches Level 2, Cao Xing recruits four more Polar People—Wuzhuang through Bazhuang—and expands their work into coal mining, lumber processing, stone collection, and construction. 13

Polar People are traditionally treated as expendable laborers by nobles and lords. Their social position is so low that attempts to obtain strength or rise in status can result in execution for them or their entire territory. Cao Xing instead permits and supports their advancement, earning exceptional loyalty from them. 250 251

During Cao Xing's campaign against hostile survivor territories, many Polar People surrender or are transferred to his control. They accept him after witnessing his power, food stores, defenses, and the prosperity of his territory. 112 113

By the time Spark City develops into a major settlement, Polar People serve as a central labor force under Du An's leadership. They construct facilities, operate workshops, mine caves, unload massive shipments, and continue to grow stronger than ordinary members of their race. 466 544 630
