"Captain?"
"Huh? Did you need something?" Yuko snapped out of her thoughts at Momo Hinamori's call.
"Is something bothering you?" Momo Hinamori asked curiously.
Yuko had been distracted ever since they returned. Momo had called to her the whole way, but she hadn't responded.
"No, it's nothing." Yuko shook her head gently. Looking at Momo Hinamori beside her, she said, "You don't need to follow me. Go get some rest. I'll be back soon."
"All right."
Yuko watched Momo Hinamori leave, glanced at the shadow by the wall, and headed for her office.
She had been wondering whether to tell Old Man Yama about Yhwach.
She hadn't wanted to say anything before. For one thing, she hadn't liked Old Man Yama much at the time, let alone accepted him. For another, she hadn't known whether Yhwach was good or bad.
Judging by the nasty woman she had met in the Wandenreich, Yhwach was probably a villain if he raised subordinates like that. Still, she couldn't be sure what his situation was.
After all, the fundamental conflict between Soul Reapers and Quincy came down to how Hollows were dealt with.
Soul Society wanted the Quincy to hand over responsibility for dealing with Hollows, but they refused. The fear that their actions would upset the balance of the Three Realms had led to the conflict.
Of course, Yuko disliked Yhwach for taking Masaki's power, if nothing else.
Yuko returned to her office, slumped into her chair, and stared up at the ceiling.
Hmm...
After staring blankly at the ceiling for a while, Yhwach's middle-aged face kept flashing through Yuko's mind.
Should she tell Old Man Yama about those thousand-year-old shut-ins?
