As Dum Dum worked the controls,
the Flathead's mechanical shell turned transparent.
It wasn't completely invisible, though.
If they looked closely, they could still make out a distorted outline in the air where the Flathead stood.
But under Dum Dum's control, the Flathead scuttled up the ceiling on its spider legs.
Once it tucked itself into the shadows beyond the reach of the lights, it vanished completely into the darkness.
Su Xiao looked thoughtful.
No wonder Dexter wanted this robot.
Its incredible wall-climbing ability and Dynamic Thermo-optic Camouflage Armor alone gave it all kinds of uses.
Although it carried no weapons and was only a support robot, it was essentially a mobile ward.
It could report enemy positions at all times.
Operating this thing seemed to come with some pretty nasty side effects, though.
Dum Dum had only been controlling it for a short while, but he was already dry-heaving nonstop.
"All right, that's enough." Royce frowned, afraid Dum Dum might actually throw up.
He wasn't worried about the side effects leaving Dum Dum with lasting damage. He simply thought vomit was a pain to clean up.
Even after cleaning, the smell lingered.
Royce had Dum Dum bring the Flathead back down and return it to its case.
"You've seen the goods and broadened your horizons. So, what do you think?"
"It's all right. It'll do."
Royce clicked his tongue.
"Didn't take you for such a picky bastard. Just tell me whether you want it."
Su Xiao nodded without hesitation.
"Sure. We'll take it."
The cybernetic eyes on Royce's face twitched sharply. "That easy? Then pay up."
Su Xiao kept his expression neutral. "Dexter sent us. Brick's already been paid."
"Dexter? The fat black guy with the dreads and the gold arm? Hahahahaha-"
Royce had been laughing heartily, but suddenly
