Panam's voice suddenly rang out over the comms, interrupting Su Xiao's train of thought.
"That bastard Nash. I trusted him. After I left the Aldecaldos and came to Night City, he was my first partner. So much for treating him well."
Su Xiao fell silent for a moment before speaking.
"So you told him everything about your deal with the Sixth Street Gang?"
Rogue had mentioned it to Su Xiao before.
She had hinted to Panam that she shouldn't reveal too much to Nash.
But apparently, Panam had considered Nash a genuine friend and told him everything about how she made her runs for the Sixth Street Gang.
That had given Nash the idea of stealing her car and keeping the cargo.
Some might ask whether Nash feared Panam getting back on her feet and taking revenge.
Of course he didn't.
People in the city couldn't tell the difference between Nomads and the Random Blade Society. Just being a Nomad meant Panam couldn't get jobs from fixers as easily as other mercenaries.
Besides, Panam didn't even have a car anymore. How could she work without one?
Not everyone was rich enough to take a taxi to a job like Su Xiao.
Nash was certain Panam would never get back on her feet, so he wasn't remotely worried about her coming after him later.
Panam gripped the steering wheel without saying a word.
But her eyes practically blazed with fury.
No one spoke after that.
The Delamain Taxi carrying Su Xiao and the other two followed Panam's car into the tunnel at the end of the abandoned highway.
Su Xiao kept his Tactical Goggles in scanning mode.
He detected a large number of red human-shaped outlines a little over a hundred meters ahead.
"Panam, time to stop. Their hideout's up ahead."
