There were three kinds of tribulations. Almost all martial artists faced ordinary tribulations when crossing into the Dao Realm.
The second kind was the Heaven's Wrath Tribulation. This tribulation was specifically used by the Heavenly Dao to restrain those who had committed grave sins, preventing them from entering the Dao lest they harm the common people again. Thus, those who could survive the Heaven's Wrath Tribulation were practically as rare as phoenix feathers and qilin horns.
The third kind was called the Supreme Tribulation. This tribulation appeared only when a Great Sage was born. The Heavenly Dao used the tribulation to test whether this Great Sage was worthy of being entrusted with a great responsibility. Those who survived the Supreme Tribulation would inevitably become supreme powerhouses of the Spirit World in the future. Those who failed would fall then and there.
Hong Ding said quietly, "This old man has never had the chance to witness the Heaven's Wrath Tribulation or the Supreme Tribulation with his own eyes.
