Lin Bai had just stepped out of City Lord's Mansion when a hidden agent hurried to report to Madam Qianrou.
"Where did he go?"
"He wandered around the city for a while, then sat down to drink at a roadside tavern."
"Understood. Keep an eye on him. Don't let him leave Verdant City, and don't let him go anywhere he shouldn't. If he's only drinking at a roadside tavern, then leave him be."
As the person currently giving Verdant City's city lord the biggest headache, Lin Bai had not been placed under any apparent restrictions. But although the city lord had ordered that his freedom not be limited, he would certainly have people secretly watching him.
Madam Qianrou knew every move Lin Bai made in Verdant City like the back of her hand.
Just as Lin Bai had previously guessed... the martial artists living in City Lord's Mansion all avoided him the moment they saw him. This was indeed another arrangement made by Madam Qianrou.
The city lord and Madam Qianrou were both worried that Lin Bai might use this opportunity to pry out a great deal of information. After all, although Lin Bai had ostensibly joined the Demon Race, everyone knew... Lin Bai was not someone who could be subdued so easily.

Although everything had been arranged properly, Madam Qianrou was still uneasy. After thinking it over several times, she turned and left City Lord's Mansion, walking toward the roadside tavern where Lin Bai was drinking.
At the roadside tavern, Lin Bai took a small sip of Ten Thousand Bones Wine. The spiciness exploding in his mouth made him cover it and cough uncontrollably, his face flushing red.
Yet once the strong
