Background

The Eternal Devil Sect was founded after the Evil Moon Sect ordered its disciple Su Yong to remain in the Eternal Thirteen Provinces and reinforce the formation sealing the White Bone Battlefield. With the Evil Moon Sect's support, Su Yong established the sect and received governance over the thirteen provinces. Its name, “Eternal,” signifies its duty to guard the White Bone Battlefield indefinitely 4164.

Its mountain gate stands in the Eternal Mountain Range of Heng Province, a resource-rich region said to have been formed where an ancient immortal god fell. The range was originally controlled by the Demon Clan before the Eternal Old Ancestors defeated them, seized the land, and built the sect upon it 4119.

The sect has endured for hundreds of thousands of years and possesses a deep reserve of Old Ancestors, elders, cultivation methods, divine weapons, and other inheritances 4119 4564. Its founding ancestor was formerly a remarkable disciple of the Evil Moon Sect 4733.

Territory and Governance

The Eternal Devil Sect governs the Eternal Thirteen Provinces as a hegemonic regional power. Provinces provide cultivation resources as tribute, allowing the sect to strengthen its own disciples and discourage provincial powers from accumulating enough strength to rebel 4061.

Unlike a conventional dynasty, the sect does not directly control each province's internal struggles. Provinces are expected to remain loyal, while retaining latitude in their domestic affairs; the sect intervenes when foreign forces invade 4284.

The Eternal Seven Absolute Peaks form the sect's principal treasury complex. They hold Divine Weapons, Divine Medicines, Cultivation Methods, Inheritances, Exotic Treasures, Miscellaneous Studies, and Forbidden Arts 4199.

Most of the sect's remaining cultivation resources are stored in these peaks and distributed only through sect approval 4384.

Recruitment and Cultivation

The Eternal Devil Sect recruits promising martial artists from across the Eternal Thirteen Provinces as Registered Disciples, who must later pass the entrance examination to become full disciples 4119.

The sect accepts practitioners without regard to race or path—including humans, Demon Clan members, ghost cultivators, and demonic-path martial artists—provided they pass its assessments 4119. Its willingness to accept members of the Heaven Swallowing Race was a deliberate high-level strategy, supported by the Old Ancestors despite the associated danger 4140.

Admission remains highly selective: of every 100,000 applicants, only about 1,000 are accepted as Outer Sect disciples 4279.

Entry Assessment

The entrance assessment has three stages. Its second stage, the Fight Trial, requires candidates to obtain five Devil Orbs while climbing toward the Celestial Palace 4128.

Internal Problems

Despite its outward prestige, the Eternal Devil Sect was severely weakened by internal factionalism. The Eight Great Noble Families of Heng Province and the Thirteen Provinces Alliance gained influence by exploiting lax discipline, family connections, and access to sect resources 4139 4140 4255.

Many disciples were protected by powerful backers—including elders, family clans, and province alliances—making the sect's leadership reluctant to enforce its laws. This indecision enabled the Eight Great Noble Families to grow strong enough to contend with the sect itself 4255 4564.

The sect also faced pressure from the Crimson Moon Divine Sect, repeated border conflicts, unrest in its own provinces, and diminishing regard from the Evil Moon Sect 4140 4585.

Major Arcs

Acceptance of Qing Luo

The sect accepted Lin Bai, operating under the identity Qing Luo, after recognizing his Heaven Swallowing Race lineage. Sect leadership tested both his loyalty and ability to resist the Thirteen Provinces Alliance before granting him Sword Hiding Hermitage 4159.

The decision was intended to give the declining sect an exceptional weapon against its enemies, following examples of other sects that rose through the support of Heaven Swallowing Race members 4140.

Conflict with the Eight Great Noble Families

Facing the Eight Great Noble Families' growing strength and their links to the Evil Moon Sect, the Eternal Devil Sect chose to strike first rather than remain passive 4516 4517.

The sect launched successive attacks against the families, eventually destroying five of the eight major families and pursuing their remaining powerhouses for more than a year 4532 4571. The campaign ended the families' domination of Heng Province and restored relative stability throughout the Eternal Thirteen Provinces 4571.

Suppression of the Joyous Union Sect

The Eternal Devil Sect dispatched Third Elder Ke Yu and thousands of Dao God Realm experts to Cloud Saint Mountain to destroy the Joyous Union Sect. Ke Yu publicly exposed the sect's use of Dao Seeds to control other sects and families, prompting many of its victims to defect and seek liberation 4598.

The operation reinforced the Eternal Devil Sect's authority in Le Province and drew pledges of allegiance from local families and sects 4598 4600.

Evil Moon Grand Feast

Before the Evil Moon Grand Feast, the Eternal Devil Sect was ranked ninety-ninth among competing sects, and its disciples were widely expected to lose against Wind and Snow Villa 4646.

Lin Bai's victory in the Evil Moon Dao God Rankings transformed the sect's reputation. His first-place result brought it recognition, new alliances, increased recruitment prospects, and greater influence across the Evil Moon Thousand Provinces 4762.
