"Hmm?"
Yuhara sat on Grey Eagle's back, circling among the clouds over the Land of Rain. In sensory mode, he could easily feel the abundant Chakra filling the curtain of rain below.
Because of the interference from that Chakra, Yuhara couldn't sense what was happening on the ground. He could only vaguely feel several Chakra sources seeming to move.
"Is it Rain Tiger Justu?"
A technique that mixed Chakra into the rain and used it to monitor a wide area in advance—apart from Rain Tiger Justu, there didn't seem to be anything else it could be.
What was Nagato up to? Yuhara silently estimated Nagato's current strength, then decided to go down and take a look. Considering Nagato's strength at this point in time, Jiraiya was still traveling through the shinobi world, so the Six Paths of Pain hadn't been created yet. Aside from being somewhat concerned about the "Chakra Dragon" of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, Yuhara wasn't particularly worried about the other techniques of the Deva Path.
Then again, if the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path appeared right in front of Yuhara... one had to know that it was merely an empty shell that had lost its power. It wasn't indestructible.
Even if the gap between enemy and ally proved far too great, at worst Yuhara could still run. Nagato had no way to pursue him, after all. The Chakra reception range of the Six Paths of Pain was extremely limited, and the Deva Path could only operate near Nagato.
After weighing the pros and cons, Yuhara made his decision. He reached out and patted the eagle's head. With a cry, Grey Eagle spread its wings and plunged downward.
Just as the eagle was about to dive into the jungle, Yuhara leaped from its back.
