Crimson lightning nearly set the earth ablaze. Arthurx, hidden within the darkness, was forced out by the dense barrage of lightning, and the magic sustaining the black curtain rapidly dissipated.
At that moment, Arthurx could not understand. He simply could not understand what kind of magic this was. It seemed like lightning magic, but why could it destroy his black curtain? And why was it so powerful?
He was completely stunned and asked in terror, "Who exactly are you?"
"Tell me what you are, and I'll tell you."
"...Seraphin Noel, a Sacred Artifact of the Chaos Religion. Even if you kill me here, I won't truly die. At most, I'll have sacrificed one corpse." With a trace of fear in his eyes, Arthurx looked at Hekate.
"Oh, I'm just an ordinary Grants student. In that case, go die."
Having finally learned his name, Hekate stopped holding back. She summoned over a hundred Thunder Fire Tribulations at once and concentrated their attacks into a single instant.
The terrifying might of heaven once again shook everyone to the core.
"Glantz, damn it, you lied to me! I won't let you get away with this!"
Arthurx roared before turning to ashes.
At that moment, a wisp of black smoke rose from where the Corpse King had been standing. It gathered in the air, forming an evil skull.
"Just you wait! Uruk Kingdom, Grants Academy, this isn't over!"
The aura drifting from it belonged to Seraphin Noel.
Hekate wanted to summon more lightning, but the other party fled in a flash, leaving her without a target.
"This thing isn't human. I'll need to find spells specifically meant to deal with such bizarre creatures." Hekate pondered as she descended to the ground.
Everyone present was still standing there in a daze, not yet realizing that the peril capable of destroying their kingdom had already passed.
Teacher Ivin broke into a radiant smile and patted Hekate on the shoulder. "You really kept me in the dark."
Hekate scratched her head. "I didn't mean to hide it from you, Teacher."
Teacher Ivin nodded in understanding. After all, it was Dragon Bloodline. It was normal that she could not talk about it.
Dean Ornis immediately shouted, "Their king has already fled! Everyone, don't let these Chaos magicians escape!"
Many Chaos magicians had been struck dead during the Fire Thunder baptism, but some remained. They had been preparing to sneak away when the dean spotted them.
"Wait, I surrender!"
"I was forced into it! Look at that bastard—he was planning to sacrifice all of us!"
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"
The Chaos magicians instantly dropped to their knees and begged for mercy. However, the teachers of Grants Academy had no intention of sparing them. They gathered magic in their hands and rushed forward to finish them off.
Thus, a crisis that could have destroyed the kingdom temporarily dissipated.
Dean Ornis still looked at Hekate with immense shock. It had taken him over three hundred years to break through and become a Magus, yet this little girl had become one in her teens. It was fucking outrageous.
Could the gap between people truly be as vast as heaven and earth?
Or perhaps she was not human at all.
"Friend, where are you from? Why did you come to Grants Academy..." Dean Ornis asked suspiciously.
Teacher Ivin immediately interrupted him. "Dean, don't ask. There's nothing wrong with her identity."
"This..."
Dean Ornis hesitated. Grants Academy was founded by him, and the Uruk Kingdom was ruled by his descendants. Letting someone so terrifying remain nearby seemed far too irresponsible.
"Rest assured, Dean. I simply wanted a place to cultivate. I have no ulterior motives." Hekate shook her head.
Dean Ornis thought it over and felt that she was right. If she truly had ulterior motives, then with the strength to instantly kill the King of Chaos, he would have no way to resist anyway.
"All right, then I'll make you the vice dean of Glantz. You may choose any magic tower you wish and cultivate there. How does that sound?" Dean Ornis asked cautiously.
Hekate could not help laughing. "There's no need for that, Dean. There are still many things I don't understand, so I'd rather remain a student."
"However, I am interested in cultivating within a magic tower."
Being allowed to stay in a magic tower was a privilege reserved for teachers.
Hearing that, Dean Ornis sighed in relief. "All right. Which magic tower would you like to stay in? I'll clear out a place for you in advance."
"The Astrology Tower. There are related spells I want to study."
Dean Ornis nodded, then went to direct the others in cleaning up the aftermath.
Chaos had merely lost another magical army; it had not truly been destroyed. Although both nations had been badly weakened and were unlikely to continue the war, there were still neighboring kingdoms. If any of them wanted to come take a bite, the Uruk Kingdom would never be able to withstand it.
Hekate supported Teacher Ivin and returned to the Plant Tower.
Teacher Ivin asked, "Hekate, did you receive an inheritance through your bloodline?"
Hekate tilted her head in confusion. What inheritance?
Teacher Ivin explained, "I'm not asking about your bloodline. I want to know where all the Legendary Races went. I grew up in the human world after I was born. My father told me that my mother had gone somewhere far away, but he never told me where. I think that if I can find the Elf Clan, I will definitely be able to find my mother."
"...Sorry, I don't have any memories related to that."
Hekate thought about it. She would receive more spells from the Gift of Fate in the future, so using inheritance as an excuse was not a bad idea. Thus, she did not deny having received an inheritance.
Teacher Ivin sighed. "All right. If you ever gain any memories of guidance they left behind, please tell me."
"All right."
Hekate nodded and left.
The moment she stepped out of the Plant Tower, Puli pounced on her. Looking at Hekate with a face full of admiration, she said, "Wow, you were so amazing today! How did you do it?"
"Like this—you glared at those people in black, and they all got struck dead by lightning!" Puli widened her eyes and imitated Hekate's expression from earlier, but she looked mischievous rather than possessing any of Hekate's aura.
Hekate pinched her cheek.
"Ow, ow, ow..."
"Then let go if it hurts." Hekate said helplessly.
"No way. You're even prettier than I am, so if I hug you, no one will gossip about it. Hehe."
It took Hekate nearly an hour to break free from Puli's pestering. Mainly because Puli's family came to find her; otherwise, Hekate would have had to bring her home.
Her father and eldest brother were both unconscious. Fortunately, neither was seriously injured. They had merely fallen unconscious from magical exhaustion and would recover after resting for a few days.
Hekate took a few looks. Her mother and second sister were both caring for them, so with nothing for her to do, she returned to her room.
"Hehe, I must have looked so cool when I summoned that lightning. My performance must have been awesome too." She threw herself onto the bed, unable to hide the pride in her heart.
Returning home in splendor was the whole point; otherwise, it was like walking through the night in fine clothes.
She had already broken through to become a Grand Magus, probably the magician with the highest Magic Level among all the surrounding kingdoms. If she did not show off a little before others, all her hard work would have been for nothing.
