Panting, endlessly panting!

With one sweeping strike, he forced back several punks charging at him with their knives. The constant bleeding and fierce battle had drained Wang Xuan's strength. His mind had gone completely blank, and when his steps slowed, another slash struck him from behind.

"Argh!!"

Wang Xuan let out a furious roar. Gripping the knife with both hands, he suddenly turned around, and a flash of steel seemed to streak across the night sky like lightning.

"Crack!"

The blade slammed into the neck of the punk behind him!

Deep unwillingness still showed in those terror-filled eyes.

Everyone's gaze focused on the corpse slowly toppling to the ground, and the surroundings abruptly fell into an eerie silence.

This wasn't someone being stabbed to death several times. That didn't look quite so terrifying!

This was decapitation!

Decapitation, something everyone had been kept far away from after entering modern society!

Decapitation, something that could happen only in movies and television dramas!

Wang Xuan randomly wiped the blood from his face with his hand.

"Heh heh heh heh heh..."

A deep, hoarse, sinister laugh rang out. Blood continued dripping from Wang Xuan's hair, and his face was so smeared with blood that his features could not be seen clearly.

"Ptooey!"

Wang Xuan spat a mouthful of bloody saliva onto the ground. Resting the Japanese War Blade against the ground, he swept his cold gaze over the group of punks surrounding him. There was a hint of madness in the emptiness of his eyes, frightening the punks into retreating a step and instinctively widening the encirclement.

"Come on! Weren't you going to kill me? Fuck, even the King of Hell wouldn't dare take me, yet a bunch of bastards like you want my life? Let's see how many lives you have to pay me for!!" Wang Xuan stepped forward, holding the blade in one hand and pointing it at the surrounding punks as he roared hoarsely.

Intimidated by his presence, the punks retreated several more steps. A strange circle formed in the chaotic street. Standing in the center, Wang Xuan held the blade in one hand. His body was covered in dried purple-black blood, mixed with the fresh red blood flowing down from his head, making him look filthy and terrifying.

"Get out of my way! So many of you can't even beat one man? You're all a bunch of useless trash!"

A booming voice rang out, and the surrounding punks visibly relaxed.

The crowd parted, and a dark-skinned man about 1.7 meters tall walked out.

He was somewhat thin, yet looked extremely sturdy. His face was full of arrogance and tyranny, and a pair of narrow eyes flashed with a cold, ghostly light. In his hand was an extended, thickened cleaver with a gleaming edge and a guarded handle.

Seeing that the blade was clearly custom-made, Wang Xuan's heart sank and his pupils contracted. Even his crazed mind gradually began to cool. Judging from the surrounding punks' attitude, Wang Xuan knew this man was a tough opponent and not someone to provoke!

The man entered the circle and glanced at the two corpses and several severed arms on the ground, especially the one whose head had been half chopped off. He quietly exhaled, his grip on the blade tightening subconsciously as he stared fixedly at Wang Xuan, who looked like a blood-soaked gourd.

"Hong Yi Society's Yougui. Dongxingzai. State your name!"

"Ptooey!" Wang Xuan spat out the blood foam in his mouth. Have you watched too many television dramas? The villains are always the ones who talk too much. In my novel, you won't survive past one chapter!

Slowly, he raised the War Blade and gripped it tightly with both hands.

Gnashing his teeth, he suddenly accelerated and rushed forward, bringing the blade down with tremendous force.

"Ambush!"

Yougui raised the cleaver in his right hand to block. After all, he was using one hand, and the attack had come unexpectedly, so he had not used his full strength. His arm went numb and the web between his thumb and forefinger throbbed with pain. If the handle had not had a guard to prevent it from slipping, the blade would have flown from his hand.

"Mo—"

Before he could finish cursing, Wang Xuan's second strike had already arrived. Yougui had no time to lose focus and immediately swung his cleaver with all his strength to block.

After seven or eight full-power blows in succession, Wang Xuan immediately realized that he was weaker. His movements slowed noticeably. After delivering another strike, he retreated two steps and steadied himself, panting heavily.

Noticing that Wang Xuan's blade had weakened, Yougui secretly breathed a sigh of relief and quickly shook his numb arm.

He had been caught off guard just now, leaving him completely on the defensive. While secretly cursing his opponent's despicable ambush, he also felt a lingering fear. If he had not been an experienced fighter who had survived countless battles, he might not have made it through safely.

Seizing the opening created by his opponent's exhaustion, Yougui showed no mercy and slashed toward Wang Xuan.

Relying on the longer blade, Wang Xuan could still barely defend himself at first, but as the battle went on, he increasingly found himself unable to keep up with Yougui's rhythm. At this rate, I'm going to die here!

He hardened his heart and ignored the cleaver coming at him, instead slashing straight at Yougui's head. He clearly intended to trade his life for the other's, frightening Yougui into hastily retreating and withdrawing his blade to block.

After barely holding on for several more exchanges, Wang Xuan felt he was about to run out of strength. He took a moment to glance around. The punks on both sides were still entangled with one another, and there was no way they would determine a winner anytime soon. By the time they come to rescue me, the grass on my grave will be a foot tall!

Damn it!

I can't go on like this. I have to think of something!

No matter when it is, a man has to rely on himself!

"Clang!"

After blocking another descending cleaver, Wang Xuan staggered back two steps. He planted the War Blade on the ground, his body swaying so badly that he could barely stand.

Seeing Wang Xuan's weakness, a ferocious grin spread across Yougui's face. He strode forward and brought his blade down viciously. Wang Xuan could only barely raise his left arm to block.

"Schk!"

What happened was completely beyond Yougui's expectations. Instead of cleanly severing his opponent's arm, the cleaver became embedded in the other man's left arm.

Suddenly, a flash of silver passed before his eyes, and his right arm turned cold.

Yougui looked down. His right arm had been severed at the elbow, and blood gushed out as if it cost nothing.

He stared blankly at his severed arm, then at the other section, still embedded in his opponent's arm with his hand gripping the handle. His eyes were filled with disbelief. He staggered back several steps, muttering unconsciously, "This... This is impossible. This is impossible!"

Habitually raising his severed arm and pointing it at Wang Xuan, he shrieked, "You cheated! You despicable bastard!"

Wang Xuan shook the cleaver off his left arm. Pain made the corner of his mouth twitch, but he gritted his teeth and refused to cry out. Pointing the War Blade at Yougui, he advanced with slow but unwavering steps.

A flash of panic crossed Yougui's face as he tightly clutched his severed arm. In an urgent voice, he shouted, "Wait! I admit defeat. You win. I accept my loss. I'll take my men and leave right now, and withdraw from the martial world forever. How about sparing me!?"

Wang Xuan glanced at the War Blade, more than a meter long, in his hand, and an almost imperceptible smile curled at the corner of his mouth. "Sparing you? Sure, I can do that!"

"Thank you!" Yougui visibly relaxed. Not daring to hope that he could recover his severed arm, he turned and walked away.
