Background

Yao Chen was born into the Yao Clan but was framed during an internal Yao Gathering at the age of fifteen. His opponent's faction tampered with his medicinal ingredients, turning a crucial component into an inferior substitute; the resulting accusation led to his expulsion from the clan. 644

After leaving the Yao Clan, he wandered the continent, formed a close bond with Feng Xian, and established himself as the Medicine Venerable—an alchemist revered as the continent's foremost. His Pill Gathering victory with a perfect-quality Rank 8 pill earned him the qualification to become a Pill Tower Giant, though he did not ultimately join the organization. 261 453 454
